Iwould like to start by saying that i have a farmall sh stage 1 that i've had for over 30 years. On the motor oil filter side it has stamped c-164 which is the size of the sh motor. Now to the question that i need help with. I went yesterday to look at a farmall stage 2 which doesn't have that number on the block no number at all relating to cubic in. that i could see both tractors are 53s one early one late model. I'm thinking it's probley a h motor.THANKS FOR ANY HELP OUT THERE. By the way i really like this web site keep up the good work

yes, they should all have the c-164 cast into the block. If you get me the serial number off of the chassis I can usually get within a few digits of what the motor serial number would have been. E-mail is unlocked. Any info that I can get added onto the list I"ve compiled will help being more accurate at figuring this out. Thanks, Pat

Yup shoiuld have the C 164 cast in it. also look for the cast code on the block, should be right under the spark plugs and should be either end in a "Y"+ 53 or a "Z" =54 these are the only to years that the super was made. if its some other number than its not the origional engine.
