I looked closely for a long time but could not find the timing mark on the flywheel of my super C. I saw in the manual where it was supposed to be but I swear there was none there! I saw the crease in the sheetmetal cover to align the flywheel mark for timing purposes but absolutely could not find the mark on the flywheel! Any ideas?

Yes, they are VERY hard to find. Do as georgky says, use a flashlight and a rag to wipe it clean.

Bring the number one piston to TDC on compression stroke and then look for it. Should be there. They are hard to find sometimes.

They can be extremely hard to find, sometimes nothing more than a scratch mark on the flywheel. Do as Georgeky says and then smear some paint on the flywheel in the area where you think it should be. This sometimes makes it easier to see.
