First, Start working on my H, getting some attachments on it, a dipstick, a pto lever, a tollbox from OEM, and I hope to buy a new WFE. But I am going to look at a cub tommorrow, so maybe that will be first. It will be my wife's tractor.... LOL ( I WIN AGAIN!!!!! )

This winter I'm going to restore my 856 peddle tractor that I got for Christmas when I was two. It needs some new front wheels, decals, and a paint job. Should be fun.

I'm in the middle of restoring a 1963 Cub Cadet.
The big project is dare I say it, the other Red
Tractor, a 1953 Cockshutt 40 Diesel. It came from
Wisconsin in boxes about 6 years ago and I hope I
have finally gathered all the engine parts to put it
back together. It's very difficult to find parts for a BUDA diesel. I did do a Farmall Super A about
3 years ago. I'm not to fussy about the brand as
long as it is an old tractor. Do a search for
Dave Wilcox in tractor photos, some of my projects are there.

Stage 1 Super H. Replace seals, gas tank is off and needs to be scoured out, Replace seals and anything else needed. The trans top is coming off so I can flush that out. Belly pump is out and seal replaced. Starter is rebuilt, Carb kit in, Governor cleaned. Going to remove radiator and flush, then paint the whole shebang.

Plus travel 3 states with my job. Finally gave up and sold the cows, maybe I will have some time now this winter. Need to cut some wood for the shop.

I am just about finished with cleaning and painting my 42 A need to put on the front tires (arrived last Thursday) will need fenders and a hood latter (for now cleaned rust and painted over holes not enough dough for everything now). Sealed the gas tank on the 52 Super C need to replace it and take a monster cab from a cushman transport off (kind of looks like a tank now).

Need to finish the brake on the 52 L160 and put a windshield and door glass and build a flat bed for it. The silver diamond engine needs rings, but does really good on the mosquitos as is.

Will move the 49 M in the shop next. It needs valve job and new paint.

The others are green or yellow. 42 JD H and a 32 model 35 Cat with cable blade and stuck engine.

Not bad for .8 of an acre. My wife thinks I am nuts when I drive from the back yard to the front just to say I drive the tractors. One of these days we will find a few acres to play in.

Dad claims he will be working on the 1950 Farmall C this winter. Needs basic stuff like new gaskets, seals, and repainting.

third party image

I would like to be working on the 42 H next to it, but $$ won't allow for another year or two. For now it runs great and I have a bunch of parts stockpiled.

And I'm debating whether I should do the H or restore my '51 L-120 first... needs to be pretty much gone through from end to end.

third party image

The Mrs. says I should buy a 4-wheeler or a jet-ski and go out and play, but in the end all I'd be left with is a worn-out toy and a bad back. Restoring tractors and my pickup will provide a return on my investment (should I ever sell).

Most immediate project is keeping the Mrs. and my unborn baby happy and healthy. After that, next project is getting our house built - we are hoping to be in by Christmas if all goes well. third party image

Currently rebuilding the engine for 1947 I-4 Road Roller conversion. Prep and paint of engine and interior surfaces of the machine next. I'll get it running and driving before doing final exterior paint last.

Getting my 1929 McDeering 22-36 running and driving will be next in line.

My PD-40 needs an air cleaner and a new radiator core. Someone told me that Fordson House has radiator cores for -40 series tractors, need to look there I guess and then get ready to spend $$$$. The engine is pretty much done, though.

Projects include:

---Putting the F30 back together and seeing if I can get it running. I got it in pieces with new pistons/sleeves, and bearings in IHC boxes.

---Swapping a rear end on a Super A and then some seal replacement, and sandblasting and painting.

---Painting my cousin's sweet Stage II Super H. He'll sandblast it; I just have to paint it.

---Getting the F20 I just bought running in time for the local tractor show at the end of the month.

--- finding usable rear rims for a Co-op E3 that I have had for 10 years. Tractor runs and is in good shape other than that.

Farmall B (most forgiving tractor God gave man the intelligence to invent) on which I have been slowly working and educating myself through the various systems of the engine, Ford 2N someone gave me that probably will run like a top when I am done if the guys on the N board are anything like the guys here, and a TD-6 crawler that is probably going to need a major teardown. Not the first time I have dismantled an engine but it will be the first time I tried to put it back together!

I need to put a brake lining in the Farmall B. Then get it ready to paint. Have a F12 soaking in the shed. Just got a head back on the brass tag us JD B. It runs good now. I , am finishing up on another F12, should get it done this winter. I have a 44 JD B that needs radiator removed & repaired. A friend of mine has a shaft to build up & turn on the lathe and a generator to fix. Snowmobile trailor needs a new deck & maybe new tires ,wheel bearings repacked etc, lites checked before deer hunting. All this & I am disabled. It seems like I work twice as hard and only get half as much done.

Where do I start?

I'm in the middle of replacing the rear seals and brakes on our 54 NAA.

Going completely through a 48 Super A, I've rebuilt the engine, trans, and finals. I still need to rebuild the hyds.

Rebuilt the AHH on my Gibson and need to repair the rear housing.

Still trying ot get our 36 T20 to fire.

Need to repair the rollers on our 34 AC model M crawler.

We recently picked up a 35 Cletrac Model 25 that is stuck (full of water from sitting outside).

We're selling our 44 OS4 and taking delivery of an OS6 today!

My son and I are organizing a gas engine and tractor show on a farm down the road. There will be a corn maze, pumpkin weight off contest, plowing demonstrations, and we'll run our JD No.2 corn sheller.

Other than that, really not much going on.

One 400 is dis-assembled for T/A repair and painting. I will do a motor swap again so that the orginal engines are back in the right tractors. At the same time I will get the good tractors T/A repaired and back together for winter snow plowing. Sometime this fall or winter I will remove the left axle houising on the other tractor to at the very least replace the leaking seal or gasket. Finish painting them both next year.
I went to an Auction friday that had a "400: Parts" listed, because I need a hitch and a grill. This tractor had a good paint job on poor sheet metal. a rebuilt engine 200 hrs ago that may have spun a bearing (oil pan removed) WFE, Fast hitch, good tires. Went for 1600. I knew it would not be following me home. Still looking at auctions.

Hmm...lets see. My '49 M needs....

- New rear tires

- One axle seal

- A coat of paint to keep the rust away

- Carb/Governor need to be adjusted

- Starter started smoking last time I ran it, so thats something to look at

- Repair one brake cover (bolt/threaded boss is torn from the bottom of cover)

- Wont stay in 5th gear under load

- Change rear differential oil

- Take off the #5 mower for the season

Then I can work on figuring out why my uncles MF 135 wont charge the battery, and installing an electronic ignition in our MF 35 Deluxe.
Its too bad all those tractors are in a different state than me.

Farmal 560D needs major tune=up; Buda diesel engine in F-30 needs a head gasket; two 1941 farmal M' stuck(engines); engine also stuck in 1950 Oliver 88; fwd F-30 Farmal/stuck 4-71 Detroit(stuck) needs different engine; Big-4 fwd (220 cummins diesel engine stuck) needs diferent engine; 873 model Bobcat has fire damage. The good news is the 560(with model 34 IH loader) is still running until it's tuneup and the '41 M with model 31 loader is running and the 1966 F700 Ford truck with the 1969 Cook corn sheller will be running by thanksgiving. My day job (truck driving) takes a lot of my time and the price of fuel takes some of the fun out of the dayjob and my hobbies. Armand

Both were pretty much basket cases that Im setting up as twins (both with IH wide fronts and fenders) Also have a 1938 Oliver 80 that im not sure what I will do with yet. Next to no parts avalible so might be one of those I dont straighten any tin and just give a fresh coat of the correct collor paint. Also have a nice late 300 to do for my dad one of these days. nice and straight but needs a TA and lots of oil leaks fixed and fresh paint

Way too many right now...

1930 Farmall Regular partially disassembled to fix leaks & some minor mechanical issues before painting

1961 Cub Cadet, just finishing a carburetor overhaul & need to start on some bodywork

A 1935 & a 1937 McCormick Deering W-30, both engines stuck and soaking, hoping to be able to make one good one out of the two

A 1950 McCormick Deering WD-6 needing some work on the injector pump and a coat of paint.

A 1956 Willys PU that I started on several years ago & never got very far. Needs some minor mechanical work, a little bit of body work, and paint. Hoping to move it into the shop before it snows & be able to get back to it this winter.

Getting power run to the shop. Having to start a generator every time I need more than a few lights or a hand tool is getting old.

Plus we're waiting on permits to start an addition to the house. Most of this will be done by a contractor, but I'll do as much as I have time for to help keep costs down.

Looks like I'll be busy for a few years. Unfortunately, my paying job tends to get in the way of doing what I'd like to do - hopefully can retire in five years or so.

Keith

Only around 10,000 of the U's made and I think less of the 240 Farmalls were made. Engine #69216 so that tell you a lot. David. PS How many posts to get my Guru status?

New guy here who just bought a '62 404. I need to add the remote hydraulic valve(s) and hardware to it since right now it has none. Plus there's a ton of small things the tractor needs.

A "working restoration" I suppose is what you'd call what I'm doing. This ain't a parade tractor, I bought it to work...

A few more days will finish my "new" hay wagon (a 60's Sears Roebuck running gear) and then back to wiring the 41 A. Still trying to figure out why the M backfires going down hill. It never did before I worked on the governor.
