Just was seeking some help on a problem I am having with my front end loader hydraulics. With no load & lifting the loader or tilting the bucket up, the hydraulics are slow. With a round bale, the hydraulics are still slow & the bucket will not tip up? Any ideas, recommendations on what to do or look for to fix. Thanks

Could have more than one problem. Might be the relief valve, weak pump or blown o-ring on pump flange. The quickest thing to try is change the relief valve from another IH tractor. All valves will interchange from the 06 series to the early 86 series. Pressure are different but that won't hurt for testing. Yours still might have the old 1600 psi valve in it anyway. If you are going to do alot of loader work I would change to a 2000 P.S.I. valve. Also is the hyd. system making any noise. If so you need to check the filter. Not a bad idea anyway. This tractor can also blow the o-ring on the hyd pump mounting flange. Might drain the oil and remove the pump to check the o-ring. The othe place is the seal between the rear deck lid and the differential housing. Also came blow the o-ring between the draft control valve and the hitch cylinder. Also is the hitch up or down. If the position control handle (inside handle) is all the way down in the offset this will dump most of the oil going to the remotes and they will be slow. The best way would be to get somebody with a flow-rator and check the system. It will check flow and pressure at the same tme.Replacing parts to find the problem isn't cheap. Need any moe help email me.

I dont know for sure in your case but those symptoms sound like what our 340 does when the fluid level is getting low. It tends to lift and lower slower and make a squealing sound. Just a thought.

Changing the filter would be a place to start.

But it sounds like the pump is going south. If it doesn't develop enough pressure to tip back then it may quit altogether some day.

Switch the hoses from one port to the other on the bucket verses boom levers.See if that helps the bucket roll back any. If so you may have a valve problem.

I just got the tractor, so I would like to start "fresh" with everything & change the filters & fluids. I will start with the "easy" troubleshooting first. In the operators manual on changing the hydraulic filter, it says to replace the GASKET & RETAINING SEAL in the fluid filter opening. Any idea what the part #'s are on these? Your help is GREATLY appreciated from this novice!

I don't know about the 706, but our CaseIH 385 is a IH design, and the hydraulic filter comes with what looks like a large O ring and 2 small ones. I think they are what you are thinking of and may come with the filter for your tractor too.
