My 966 is leaking quite a bit of oil in front of the engine. It runs down where the power steering cyclinder is. I have to put about a quart of oil in every hour. I think it is the front seal or the oil pump. How hard is it to brake down and fix. Do you have to take the front end off. Thanks Eugene

Probably the front seal. We have had alot of seals leak on the 400 series engines. The seal can be changed without removing the complete front end. Have to remnove fan and shroud. Remove A.C. compressor if equiped. If early tractor the front damper uses three hole puller late ones two hole. I use a hook type seal puller to remove seal. Put in new seal and wear ring on damper pulley. You will have to use two different lenghts of bolt to pull the damper back on the crankshaft using the retaining washer. Just make sure the crankshaft key is all the way in the groove and the pulley is lined up. Have any problems contact me
