When did disk brakes show up on a H? Was there a crossover period where you could order the conventional band or opt for disk?

If you mean the IH disk brakes, sometime close to the introduction of the Super H. There were also Lambert disk brakes on H and M tractors much earlier. I considered buying a '46 H that had them. They can be distinguised from the IH brakes by having only three bolts through the castings instead of four, and having the actuator rod coming out of the upper portion of the housing instead of the lower portion. I don't know if the Lambert brakes were only a dealer-installed item, or if some were factory installed.
