ok so i was hooking up my new rear light today and went to test it out with the tractor on and when i turned the switch i heard the volt regulator make a thud and then smoke came out of the electrical box and when i touched one of the screws to take it out it was super hot then i noticed the glow from the light box turned out one of the wires burned from the screw bein so hot or soemthing.. i think its a grounding problem and i checked to make sure it still charges with the lid removed off the light box but it sparks when i put it back on it ground threw the screw that holds the front to the back becuase if i secure it with red zip ties it does not start at all any info would be greatly appreciated

If the bolts are touching the wires, the wires could touch other things. I am way not the correct police, but I think it needs to be looked at for the problem and bare conductors. If it is safe, hold it together with wire ties if you like, but the cover is almost never removed, and the wire ties could relax enough to allow the cover to get crooked. JimN

The screws go through and can touch objects, terminals, and live wires on there way through. Chack for this, and put shrink tubing on the shank of the bolts, then assemble. JimN
