I hope to buy a dead tractor tomorrow. It occurred to me that if the tires would hold air, I could tow it home.

Can someone share a photo or some ideas about a well designed towbar?

I have 2" ball hitch I can use from a trailer.

How long or short should it be? The tractor is a 400. How heavy should the tongue be?

Thank you SDE

You can do that, but you should never tow any tractor faster than what that tractor would do under its own power, which would be about 12 to 15 mph.

I got it made. I need to add safety chains. I figured to keep it under 20mph.
