These cartooms are in the 1950's owners manuals for Farmall tractors. I have an IH 300 manual from '56 with 22 of the cartoons. They feature what looks to be an M who always gives advise to his opperator such as; "Wait, I'm too hot" as a farmer is ready to add some water to the radiator. My favorite is one of a tractor speeding down a hill, the farmer having clearly lost all controll. A little rabbit runs out of the way and says " He should've kept it in gear!" My question is what is the history on these cartoons? How many were there? Who wrote them? What years were they used? Were they ever printed all together in a book? Thanks, Danny

there was an article in the red power magazine a while back that interviewed the fellow that did these for ih. everyone should subscribe to the red power magazine to learn these little tidbits of information.

The cartoons continued up until the 84 and 86 series at least. Dad bought two new 84 series in the early eighties and both owners manuals had those same cartoons in them.

Those cartoons are funny. I read them in my Farmall manuals too.
You might also enjoy the works of Will Eisner. He was a very famous cartoonist, and wrote for the Army early in his career. Look him up on wikipedia, com, I think you'll get a kick out of his works.
