How would you use the oven cleaner?

Spray it on....take a break, 30 minutes or so.....wash it off....repeat if needed.

I used oven cleaner on a lot of the parts and then hit it with the sand blaster to clean it all up.

Had about 8 coats of paint on the fuel tank and I think it took two cans of cleaner.

Make sure you get all the oven cleaner off before you paint.

I used oven cleaner and a power washer and worked great. The only thing is you must keep the water on till it quits foaming.Someone on here said they had trouble later on and im quite sure it was because all the cleaner wasnt removed before the primer was applied. It does a wonderful job.

I use a lye solution with current (someone here can give you the recipe, mine is AWOL) to strip smaller pieces and I have heard of a lye gravy solution to do bigger part but have never used it. The first method has worked really well for me.

On all the cast iron, I use my torch. It bubbles up the old paint and then the wire wheel makes it look new. Wouldn't try it on sheet matal though. Sandblaster work too.
