How do you tell when your hydraulic reservoir is full enough

I was cutting hay today with the 460u and had slow remote hyd response. I added 2.5 gals and then it responded quicker. Now I know it has some very small (mostly weeping) leaks, but I couldn't have lost much fluid to make it pump slow again. How do I tell when there is enough fluid in the system when performing a top off? It's easy to do when you do a filter & fluid change, but what is your rule of thumb adding.

I have only 1 remote and the fast hitch operates slow too!

Can it be filled too full?

Cutting hay was great! I used a neighbors old trailer type sickle mower. As many of you know, you NEED hydraulics to operate it.

I'll get some pix posted soon!

TIA

Butch
