I finally have it home almost 1700 miles later.
Fixed all ythe trailer lights greased wheel bearings had some welds checked on trailer.
Had the tread blow off a trailer tire in Tenn. so wound up with 4 new tires. Finally have tractor at home so decided to clean it some and pressure washed it. Then it would not run right. Cleaned out carb that helped some. Then cleaned out Dist. cap that helped new plugs and cleaning all connections that really helped. Now it is running well. Ring gear is bad and starter bendix is bad.
How is best to fix that. I have parts manual and owners manual. What is best for a shop manual.
Rims are good, no block cracks, steering is tight,
shifter seems to have a lot of play Any ideas why?
I mowed the grass Monday night with it did a nice job. It has been converted to 12 volt sorry so long

Rob: Don't be in a rush to change the flywheel ring gear. Fix the starter and install one of the clutch type starter drives rather than a bendix.

15 years ago, I sent both the starters for my SA and 130 off to a rebuilder. The SA starter came home with a clutch type drive, and 130 starter with a bendix starter drive. The 130 starter wouldn't engage as the ring gear was a bit rough. I switched starters to see if the clutch drive would make a difference. It worked perfect. I called the rebuilder to see why one starter came home with clutch drive and the other a bendix. He said, "I only had one bendix in stock, thus I called CaseIH down the street, and they sent over that clutch drive. It will probably work." I said, "it's the only one that will work on my 130, plus it works smoother on the SA. I want clutch drives on both starters."

I went to CaseIH, now bear in mind this CaseIH dealer had a parts guy, probably one of the best in the business, one of those 1 in 100 parts guys. He told me he hadn't sold a bendix in many years, and that these clutch drives worked so much smoother especially if the old Farmall has been converted to 12 volt. That was 1992, and my 130 has been working ever since with the clutch drive starter and that same rough looking ring gear. It is the tractor I run all winter, thus it sees the hard starts. In 2001 I installed a new clutch kit, never gave any thought to the ring gear, why would I, it works so well. You may have to go to IH for the clutch drive. In 1992, they were the only supplier in my area, however a lot may have changed since then.

the ring gear will require a divorce of the engine and tranny but the bendix can be fixed by simply removing the starter.
