I chewed out my neighbor for hooking his up backwards. I asked him ,how would you hook it up if you took it out of the tractor? He said pos to pos & neg to neg. I then asked him why he wanted to hook it up backwards when it was in the tractor. All he could say was ground is ground?????

I always tell my helpers: Don't look at the cables--just read the battery when charging.

You are correct. Regardless of which side is grounded, always hook pos to pos and neg to neg. No need to unhook the battery.
