I have an leaky oil seals from shaft that goes from the belly pump to the rear end. I removed the coupling that connects the hydraulic pump to the rear end and it looks like I need to remove a threaded end from the hydraulic pump as well as the rear end to replace the seals. Can replacing the seal on th epump be done with out removing the belly pump? Are either of these pieces I need to reove Left handed threaded? I would appreciate our help with this.

Thanks dave

Just completed the same on my Super H. They are both right handed threads. For both use a piece of 1/2 inch bar put one end against right side of coupling a give a good whack with a 4 lb. sledge. You will want to drain both BP and rear end. For the pump you can use a piece of 1x4 with a hole large enough to allow shaft to make it through. for the tranny take the seal retainer off using the 3 bolts. you can then use your vise as a rest and tap old seal out and new one in. Use grease for outside and inside of new seal.

They are both right hand thread. If you can get that piece unscrewed without removing the pump you are doing good! It is probably pretty tight, you can try sticking a square shaft into the notch and whacking the bar with a hammer, you may be able to jar it loose.

I replaced the one on the pump side. I had to drop the pump down, and take the pump out of the case. If I remember right the pump side is left hand threads. About the only way to get it loose is to put the pump in a vice, stick some thing in the gears to keep them from gong around, and put a flat piece of steel in the slot in the coupler. Then whack the piece of steel with a hammer. I think if the tractor is in gear the one one the rear end won't turn on you while you try to unscrew it. Not sure if that one is left handed or not.
