how can i check to see if my hydraulic system is working when i pull the control lever will the engine bog a little i have caps on the little pipes but the thin im worried about is the owner before me might have run it out of fluid... is there some kind of dip stick all that my cap has on it is this little sponge thing

By the way, you might want to put a T in the output line. If you do this you can tap into this line and run a steel tube up to the light bar and install a gauge. Now you will have a means of monitoring the hydraulic system pressure in case an internal leak develops. This way you can stay on top of things going on inside your tractor! :)

Yeah you should have a dip stick attached to the cap. I think you can screw a test gauge into the line and check to see if the pressure output is what it's supposed to be but aside from that I don't think there is much else you can do.

The I&T manual shows a special gauge used for this but you can use a regular pressure gauge and steel line with a threaded end to fit the port or line. I think you will probably need a 2,000-3,000psi gauge for this. I used a 2,500psi on my 100.
