I need help please. I have taken the steering box apart and have the housing shaft out. I need to replace the seal that goes on the shaft above the steering arm. What is the best way to get the arm off so I can replace the seal and bearing? I have learned many things about my first tractor while reading your replies on the forum and want to thank all of you for your past help.

Thanks guys, I got the arm off last night and found it did not have a spring or spring retainer on the shaft. Does anyone have one to sell ? Thanks again for your help.

I used a tie rod tool to get mine off. It has an end with a ramped fork and a long handle that you can hit with a hammer.

Afternoon Fred, The steering arm is on a taper, so your going to need a small wheel puller or you might be able to pop it off using a steel wedge between the arm and the bottom of the steering box. There is a woodruff key on that tapered shaft, you will want to inspect when you have it apart !
