I poste a message on a 244 a couple of days ago but what I ment was a 424IH was woundering about the lift cap. of it with a loader and how idot proof are they its for my brother and he is not the smartest when it comes to equipment and I dont want to have to drive 2hours every time he has a problem.

I figured the three point would pick it up ok. He will probibly us it more anyway I was just woundering on the loader for getting bales off the trailer when I take him a load of bales witchis about once every two months. Thanks for the help

In my opinion, it is still too small. it might be OK with a rear spike, but not a loader spike or grapple. it has not got the frame or weight to do the work without straining it into unreliable status. If you say the owner is a bit experientially challenged, I would go for those tractors mentioned in the othet post. JimN

I have a 424 and although I love the little thing (its twice the tractor an 8N is) It is a little light to pick up big round bales with. I have a 460 Utility also and thats much better
