I am looking at a 1939 Farmall H the guy wants 700 it is in desperate need of new spark plugs
and a battery looks like it was taken care of seems to run good just needs little stuff.
should I buy it or let it go?

If it has all the correct "39 parts on it, it should be worth almost that much not running. I"m sure the correct "39 parts could be sold off it for that much.

price sounds good. if you are serious, pick up a set of plugs, ask the seller if you can put em in, take a 7/8 inch deep socket with you and see if it runs better. i think the stock plug was a champion d-15, i run d-16's and d-18's. they are a little hotter and dont foul as quick if the tractor doesnt work hard.

I agree. Hear it run and check the serial number. If it's low and has the correct '39 seat then I think $700 is a good price if it looks in decent shape.

I it runs, it is worth that, the serial # might make it even nicer if it is pretty low. They are kinda cool. JimN

Does it run like crap and that's what this guy told you? If so it probably needs more than plugs. I would want to hear it run good first.

Sounds like a decent price especialy if all the correct 39 parts are there like the correct seat. I paid $300 for one a month ago that was stuck.
