I've recently purchased a McCormick Deering O4 tractor. From the research I've completed, I've noticed a few options from tractor to tractor that I found. For instance, some tractors had solid cast wheels while others had cast spoke wheels. Reason?? Also, I'm yet to see an O4/O6 with lights. Was this available? Any leads where one can get brackets and lights? Anyone know where parts for these can be purchased? Ex. belt pulley, lights, etc. Thanks.

The front light brackets are the same as for the W-4, O-4 (pre 1949) as are the lights themselves. The lights are attached to the brackets the other way round, the light alongside the bracket rather than extended beyond the bracket and they are attached below the front frame below the radiator rather than on the sides of the frame as in the W-4 etc. OEM advertise the brackets in their catalogue

The lights were teardrop lights correct? I'm hearing different stories on the light in the rear of the tractor and location. Any thoughts to this?

The solid cast wheels were on the orchard tractors because they had an extra low first gear and it was to prevent the tractor fom rearing over backwards. To keep from cathing branches was probably a reason too.

THe 04 and o6 models did come with lights as an option. I got my brackets on ebay a few years back, havent seen any since though. "The lights are the same as an M or H Farmall. I am pretty sure the wheels are all solid cast to avoid catching branches. Does yours have a hand clutch? You can look in the archives to see how the lights mount. As far as parts, just pose a wanted ad in the classifieds, you may get a response. Good luck, Andy

Yeah it does have a hand clutch. Are the brackets the same as some other McCormick or IH models? What did you end up paying for your brackets on eBay?
