the cih parts pages are little help. what type and where on the hazard/turn signal flasher for a 685 without cab (post merger version).

the part numbers in the list do not cross at work (auto value). It's 50-50% on the 2 or 3 prong right now and without showing the location, i'm on a goose chase. i have found about 2 or three possible places with either loose female spade wires or 2 or 3+ cavities in a harness connector, either way could hold a flasher correctly.

thanks

I have always used either a 525 signalstat or and electronic multi lite flasher out of a semi and they are two prong . As to location on a 685 off the top of my head i am not sure keep thinking that it is under the dash .

that's unfortunate. (and a dumb idea from at least the end user's viewpoint)
there were some melted wires under the speed tranny cover which i've repaired today, which had me questioning everything. there was other evidence of a torch being there related to my shifting problem earlier, so i know there wasn't an electrical issue.

before i buy a whole assy, definitely will check bulbs, wires, etc. then maybe see if my EE friend might want a project :D

right now (and before i patched the wires) the symptoms are no hazards, and with the turn signals: one side no lights, and the other the opposite glows solid.

karl, your symptom of no hazards and no turn signal flash w/opposite lite on solid indicates electronic flasher has failed, simple fix, but costs aprox $65. this unit was used to allow a combination of signals & flashers w/o extra wiring. could eliminate, but signals are recommended if you travel roads.
