I am looking at buying a new radiator for my Farmall M. On the internet I find a couple of companies selling reasonably priced new radiators that are made in China. Found another company selling a radiator made in India for about $60 more than the Chinese one. Does anyone have any experiences - good or bad - with these Chinese or India radiators in a Farmall M?

Don't get me started on their tainted food and poison riddled drugs they ship around the world. Sickens me to even think of having to send my money to that dictatorship half way around the world. But very sadly there is little choice. My relatives who fought WWII would roll over in their grave thinking our nation is cow-tied to a regime no different than what they fought against..... grrrrr rrrrr rrr!

In reply to BDM's comment. I am no fan of China but in WW-2 they were on our side. Not our enemy. We also had troops fighting for China before the US entered the war. They first became our enemy in the Korean War.

Harold, I'm aware of that. I wasn't referring to pre-war China. I was referring to the present Chinese government vs what they fought against. Little difference.

Right there with ya. Did you see how good thier aircraft maintenance is today? They probly copied and made thier own fuel line instead of getting one from Boeing.

Some companys are selling ones made in Ireland. I put one in my 706 a few years back and it was well made and setting next to the old one you couldn't tell them apart except the new paint. The reason I didn't recore the old one is the new one was 25% cheaper than the recore job would be. Also seems most cores are also made in china to.

I replaced my M's radiator with one ffrom YT made in China and it fit perfectly if it is done right. It is three years old now and still working great. I plan on replacing the rad in my A with one from YT nade in China. It seems to fit just fine. I will finish installation inm a couple of weeks after some other work .

I had two aftermarket radiators, and had trouble with them both due to the fit. I really cannot remember where either were made, but neither were in the US. Both were fit problems with inlet and outlets. Cooling seemed fine, but you might be prepared to tweak it some to get it to fit right, problem is radiators do not always lend themselves to tweaking very well, and the one I am still using heavily has a inlet which sits at an angle. I just live with it as I put function before form as it is a worker.

You will be much better off going to a salvage yd and getting a good used one. Are you sure you even need a new one as lots of the old engines have crud in the block and then have bad cooling problems.

Someone else "coined" the phrase and I have seen it many times, but it still applies: China is the land where things are almost make right. It is the "almost" that causes a lot of buyers the headaches and remorse.

That's a pretty narrow view of the world. I don't agree with their government, but you have to agree the Chinese will sell you what you want.

From Ming Dynasty backward and forward they have had some of the best craftsmen in the world.

The US is hung up on cheap at any quality and the Chinese are more than happy to oblige. But don't let that make you think they can't produce quality higher than us, the Germans, or the Swedish. The Chinese currently make some of the best musical instruments in the world, violins rivalling the old ones.

If we would not buy their junk they would not produce the junk, plan and simple.

I've been baling with an M with a Chinese radiator for several years now, and no problems.

The two I have installed did not fit really good, but once you realise you have to adjust them, it is not too bad. The worst fit was the copper overflow tube.
