Does anyone know of one of these early (forerunners) of the International Harvester truck/pickup, where I can get some closeup photos of the running gear, steering, suspension, drivetrain. It has a large tank across the front instead of a radiator, and is one of the first models to use a steering wheel. I saw one at the Red Power Roundup at Lebanon Tn. back a couple of years ago. There's a photo of one, top left page 376, 150 Years of International Harvester by C.H.Wendel. --Walt--

Thanks J Weber, the one I'm looking for has a tank across the front instead of a radiator. Your photo is of a Autobuggie. Do you have a Autowagon? Thanks --Walt--

that is an autowagon with buggy top. The 1910 and later used a "fake" radiator to cover the fuel tank on the air cooled models. This is what I have. The 1909 wagons had a round fuel tank that laid horizontally on the front of the frame. if you have a model designation on your serial tag, your wagon is a 1910 or later. Model A serial numbers are:

101A - 797A 1909-march 1910
797A to 1723A 1910
1724A to 3247A 1911
3248A to 3541A 1912

1910 wagons will have a timer for ignition, while later wagons will have a heinze magneto. Here is another pic of my wagon with the top down.

here is a pic of the front. the front grille/hood is actually a cover for the fuel tank.

Thanks J Weber, I saved the photos to my computer for later reference. In what part of the world do you live. Do you show your Autowagon at antique tractor shows? Thanks --Walt--

SE Illinois. I haven't had time to show the truck in the past few years. I do plan on showing the truck at the 2008 RPRU

I sent you an Email, as I don't like to post contact info on the board. I will say that the truck resides in East Tennessee.
