The big gearbox comes from a M cotton picker. I added an Electrall gearbox in the second picture. Both will attach to one SMTA thru 660 tractor.

OK, what can I build with all this stuff?

Hey Wardner, any chance you have an extra Electrall drive?

Nope, just one. I'll be returning it to my Safety Deposit Box at the bank tomorrow, LOL.

One is enough to reverse engineer duplicates. I have already gotten pricing on the machine work, gears and bearings. I need to go to the foundry to see what they would charge for the patterns and runs of ten sets.

With a bit of shielding on the driveshaft you could run a dual stage snow blower. The donor M would be set up to run backwards, and have 24" combine tires. The main PTO would run the auger and gathering system, and the Picker drive, the blower turbine. The pulley could be used to run an Electrall (opposite side tor operate a cab heater, and lights for that 3:00 am blowing job you were hired to do by the big box stores. JimN

Ya but...

I still have a left over shaft or pulley. Both those gearboxes will go on one tractor at the same time.

I was surprised when I first looked at the cotton picker. I couldn't believe that the main PTO was not utilized. There was just a cover plate,

If I have four power shafts or pullies, I could drive an air compressor, ac generator, welder, and an ice cream churn all at the same time. And we haven't even tapped the hydraulics yet.

Don't ya just love these old tractors?

Just like an erector set, the imagination takes over. JimN
