I pulled the carb from the tractor. It says "Zenith, made in USA" on the outer side and "Bendix" on the tractor side. There are NO numbers that I could see. Am I looking in the wrong place? I found a NAPA store nearby but want to be sure I have the model 161 carb before I go. Seems like it must be on there somewhere but if it is must be fainter than that TDC line on the flywheel!

Go to www.caseih.com and look at the diagrams. Although the Zenith carbs use mostly the same parts, the shape of the bowl, throttle body and the gasket between are different. That is obvious in the diagrams.

Dave, I had the same situation, took the carb to my CaseIH dealer, the parts guy looked and looked , finally tried one more and turns out it is a Zenith B-40, they ordered the gasket (which is all I needed) , had it in 3 days.

Dave, I still have the NAPA box from my recent rebuild at home. Send me some photos of your carb & tag to; maryken@attglobal.net, and I'll get you much info. The NAPA kits will have multiple gaskets & parts because one kit fits various carbs. -Ken

Give me a couple of days. I am not a free man at the moment. Family had me out all day for my b-day and tomorrow they are taking me to a tractor show....life is a b****! :-)

I will be back at it Sunday. Thinking I will take this carb to the show and show it to whoever will look.....you know me....not shy and no shame!

Should have a round tag on the engine side of the carb and it will have the numbers you need.

Dave. There should be a dime-size disc riveted to the top-side of the carb,(opposite the fuel inlet) and the numbers will be stamped into that disc.

Bingo! That one rang a bell. Unfortunately, the numbers are extremely faint. I did not even realize that they were there. I rubbed a little grease into them and can make out some of them.
I can see 366306R9R (I think). There may also be an inner set of digits but they are unclear. Nothing on here looks like anything in the service manual. Does not match IH numbers or Zenith numbers, neither does it say "161" anywhere. Any help with this?
Must be a pretty good carb from overall tractor operation...I think worth a rebuild if I can get a sure ID.
