Does anyone know JD Hopson in Cookeville, TN? He responded to a "wanted" add for some IH brake parts. I sent him the money. Two months later no parts. Last contact he claimed the parts were lost in transit. I suggested he file a claim with the shipping company (as only the shipper can file claims) and if the parts can't be recovered to refund my money. Haven't been able to contact him since. He has an unlisted phone number too! Cookeville Police Dept leaves a lot to be desired. Guess I will try the county mounty unless someone on here can enlighten me as to why I might not be able to reach John.

Thanks,

Thanks everyone, guess I should have checked him out first. So far no one from the site has burned me. At least it wasn't a pile of money. I have added my name to the postal inspectors list and will be contacting David Andrews 931-528-8484 with Putnam County Sheriff to add my name there.

Might be worth a trip to TN just for the "peace of mind".

heres the latest from another board...

Thought I would bring everyone up to date on the scam artist, Mr.J.D.Hopson.

The homes of Hopson and his mother Mary were searched today by the US Postal Service, US Secret Service, and the local Sherrif's dept. Several boxes of evidence, including his computer, were confiscated, and charges are pending. He has been lurking on this and other boards to see if he could find out any info on his scams. This is why I asked Ed to remove all items concerning him. Anyone is free to post now.Hopson says he will refund your money. So, everyone that wants a refund, please send an email to the postal inspectors with full details so you can get on Hopson's list. Don't think it will do much good, but maybe worth the effort. Maybe we all should get together and go visit him when he goes to jail. No get out of jail free card for this scumbag. don b

I never dealt with JD Hopson, but I have seen bad feedback on him on this site before.
