I got a neet F20 today with a Little Wonder plow. The F20 is unrestored but runs great. It was delevered while I was at work. I never started a F20 so I had to remenber how the gentalman I got it from did it. I started very easy but it does has some compression. I didn"t put my thumb around the crank because I didn"t want it broke. I"m a city boy who never used a tractor but loves old F series tractors like the F20. All serial numbers match and it is on round spoke rubber wheels instead of steel. I drove it dow the road and it ran well. It has a short brake lever that I had to get use to. The owner said I have to find a clevis to bolt to the drawbar to attach the plow to. Are they hard to find and does anyone have one? I posted a picture of the plow and will post a picture of the tractor tomorrow. Only thing wrong with the tractor is the PTO lever is broke. I need to find another one. Tractor is very old red but I see grey under it. I"ll run the serial numbers tomorrow. What does everyone think of a F20?

I really like the F20s, but they are too wide for my trailer. Not sure on the narrow tread version. On your plow It is very possible you will need what they call a "twist clevis" to hook up the coupler to the drawbar.Tractor supply has them or any implement dealer should. If you are going to go try out the plow just remember this and it is very important! DO NOT hook the trip rope to your arm or body or even the tractor seat. The coupler on the plow is made to "break away" if the plow hits a big rock, old stump or something underground. I know a lady who got yanked right off an M when the plow unhooked and have heard of people getting the seat yanked out from under them because they had the rope tied wrong. The tractor will keep going without you! Best not to tie it at all and if you dont have anywhere to put it find a place where it won"t fall off and get plowed under or break a part on the tractor. My old 10-20 had a small pully on the fender that I think was used to hold the rope and that is what I used it for. There might be a place on that ol gal that someone used like a wire loop or some other creative way of doing it. Just be careful and have fun with it, it will last you for years if you take good care of it.

Thankyou for the safety info on the plow. I didn't think about that. I have a copy of a catalog with this plow in it. It shows a stif wire with a loop to trip the plow. Anyway some putty will work. The serial number of my F-20 is 388XX. I'll look it up and see when it was made. I like the looks of the narrow F-20. Oh how far do you move the mag lever when starting a F20? I don't want the thing kicking back on me.

I look at the cap on the mag and just move the lever a little bit so the aluminum cap moves just a touch, That should do it, just be sure it sparks at that point. on my F-12 I move the lever to about the half way point because the cap hole is worn a bit.

First tractor I ever restored, (23 yrs ago) was an F-20. I really liked it, except it was awful wide, and at the time I only had a 76" wide bumper hitch trailer. Couldn't fit the bugger on there. Mine had a Behlen road gear, and boy that old girl would zip, but man did it make the bull gears sing! I sold it about 1990, and wish I could find it again. Should have never let it go. Parts are plentiful for them, but some of them can be pricey, like good sleeve and piston sets if you need'em. Just make sure you always retard the spark on the old girl when you spin it over, or you'll be having a cast signing party!
