Hey All,

Wanted to spend all day at the "yard." Found a few things I wasn't even looking for. Here is a picture of part of the salvage yard
third party image

Here is a picture of the grounds crew there!

And here is a pic of the haul I made for $175.00

Next time I visit I need to get parts to rebuild my sloppy loose fasthitch.

Thanks for the tips!! I had every thing I needed after following your suggestions.

Butch

Gary,

There was 2 other drag links there they had different clamps on the ball joints and were about 1 inch shorter. I saw them and thought Cool! but then realized I was going to have to cut them off (rusted on tight.) Later in the day as I was walking through a bunch of letter series stuff I found the drag link I brought home. There was a couple 460 u's there that were industrials, 1 other 460 u, they were all only trans and motor. no front axles, no power steering units no sheet metal. There was an area that had all different sheet metal where I found the badge panels and front grill stuff. there was a 350 u there that had only 1 rear wheel on it. That is where I got the parts for mine. Lots and lots of letter series stuff not much else. Many different makes there too. The hyd control levers I got off a 460 rowcrop, but when I got home I saw they will not work. Mine only has one remote. I could probably pu that one on and remove mine, but i would like to find a single one. No hyd covers. Mine is a three piece deal. If your really interested I would send it to you for a template.

Butch

[Sorry Billy!

I would've enjoyed a visit to someone elses shop for a glass or two of reindeer milk!

Where are you at? Stoughton? I know where that is! now I'll have to remember how to use the classic view to get you email address. Unless there is a shortcut here on the modern view?

All the way to Fort Atkinson, WI and you don't even drive the 10 miles out of your way to drink my beer? You should be ashamed of yourself!

Ya Butch WI, shame on you. Billy, does that mean an open invite for Hugh, georgeky, Al L. in Wisc. (that's me), let's see...Mike in CA, Allen in NE (he needs to get off that flat land), etc. etc. Do we need to bring our own church key/five gallon parts bucket to sit on/insect spray, etc? Does this qualify for it's own new post?

Al,

I got your email when I got home that day. I was sure there were no top link brackets because I looked at all the fasthitches closely! I hope to go to lakeside some time just to go. I"m only 20 miles from there. Stopping in by Billy woulda been a hoot! NEXT TIME!

Hey...anybody that wants to stop by is welcome anytime...and I'll buy the beer! You will get choices of Miller High Life, Blatz, Schlitz, Pabst, and of course Leinenkugel's. And of course my personal stash will be of Point Special beer...cause there's no point in drinkin', if you ain't drinkin' Point!

Naw, seriously...if any of you guys ever get in the area of Southern Wisconsin, stop by and have a refreshment on me. We can sit in the shop, talk smart, and then not accomplish anything! Now that's a good day!

Just shoot me an email!

Looks to me like a person could spend days there. Also looks like grounds crew is doing a good job.
