I have two questions about details of a 1940 A Farmall. 1. My parts book shows two parts described as "seat spring adjusting bolt" under the leaf springs on which the seat is mounted. I have never seen these on a tractor and can not even find a picture of them. What do they look like?

2. This tractor has the kill switch mounted on the side of the magneto with a armored wire (like a choke cable) extending back to the operator position. The book shows two support clips. Where do these clips mount and how is this cable routed?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

EC - The magneto kill switch support clips are mounted if memory serves me correctly, one is at the top front of the torque tube where it bolts to the block and the other is either attached to the rear gas tank support bracket or between the bracket and the gas tank. I'll take a look at mine and let you know.

Seat spring adjusting bolts - one on each side with two nuts to lock the bolt in the seat support hole with the bolt head extended up just touching the leaf spring bottom with no load on the seat. The two bolts are located in a pair of the side-to-side matching multiple holes in the seat support as chosen by the operator to give the most comfort (Super-A manual). Bolt length appears to be about 2"+ (?) and sized to fit the seat support hole.

EC- the Seat Spring Adjustment Bolt is simply a nut/bolt assembly that passes up through each seat bracket (up to the leaf springs), and is set at a desired 'sag' of your leaf springs. I prefer a rigid seat, so I put some in to actually touch the leaf spring - preventing any sag at all. I can email you a photo tomorrow if you wish.
