Went to look at a cub over the weekend. Instead of a touch control system, it had what looked to be a delco starter motor attached to a hydraulic pump, mounted on the right side of the tractor (directly in front of the pedals). It was used for lifting cultivators, and it was not homemade. Anyone have information on this type of lift? I have only been around 4 cubs in my life, and they all had touch control. Oh yeah, the owner thinks it is a '47.

Sounds like a hyd pump from something like a meyers snow plow. You can buy these all day long and they work off 12 volts so as Geo says the pump may not be home made but the rest of the set up is. Pick up a northern catalog and they have them for sale and they aren't cheap either

It was homemade. It may have been some kind of after market add on, but IH didn't put it on there. Some Cubs especially 47's did not have hydraulics on them from the factory. I have seen some pretty good homemade systems on them before.
