I have from what i beleive may be a super H motor in a standard H chassis. My belief is founded by thge following.Dipstick tube no pitcocks.Maybe not enough evidence to convict.
My whole concern is based on when I change points do i set @ .013-standard H or .020-super.
The condenser that came out of the tisco set was long and slender. The actual one needed to replace what was on the tractor is shorter and thicker(a trip to the parts store)G126 in borg-warner select was the ticket.Yes there is a question in here somewhere!
What point gap should be set? fyi-Delco-Remy distributor-3H3 last three legible digits in serial #.
Thanks in advance

Super H's didn't have dipstick tubes. Sorry, Kojak :)

The first tractor to have a dipstick is the 350 if I'm not mistaken.
You'll find a "C164" cast into the block under the spark plugs if it's a Super H or 300 engine.

I have the Borg Warner G126 condenser listed for the Delco Remy distributor. This was used on C153 engine too. It has the A103M point set listed too. Hal

Those Tisco points and condensor sets are usually quite correct. If your tractor has the Delco vertical distributor, you need the tune-up kit for the Delco. The tune-up kit for the horizontal IH distributor will not work in a Delco.

If it is a Super H engine, it will have a "164" cast into the engine block on the right side, approximately over the oil filter cover. This designates the cubic inches of a Super H. A regular H is 152 cubic inches, and has no cubic inch casting on the side of the block. Dipstick tube indicates engine is from a power unit or harvesting machine of some kind - or, perhaps a much later model tractor. I cannot help you with your points as my reference books are at another location. However, I believe .013 is for a magneto ignition and .020 is for a battery ignition. mike

The point gap on the distributors are .020". The
IH mags are set at .013". Hal
