this 685 mowing outfit we purchased has all kinds of idiot operator or mechanic problems. tach says about 2500 hours. would you think it's been around once already? if everything was perfect and the hours were correct, it would be worth 12k, but all the things showing up definitely make it worth-less. might be 100$ in parts repairs total but the labor is quite high to do those repairs.the latest problem i've found is the diff lock was stuck down, but the wheels still spin individually if you get it hung up on a rock, which if it had real tractor back tires wouldn't happen. another example of something stupid, is that the attatched mower lift cylinders are driven off the mcv somehow, when the tractor should have been equiped with either factory remotes, remotes with power beyond adaptor, or at least power beyond adaptor. interesting that there is another way to add power beyond to it, but there were certainly more sensible ways to obtain lift power, since this way is really hokey. it may be a fine tractor in disquise, but there are so many things right now. i'm being calm about it, compared to my dad. but that's what happens when you don't test drive it before delivery. if i would have been with, i may have been able to persuade him to check it out, or me check it out. all this because he thought a bushhog was too much money. thanks for the place to vent karl f
