I have a farmall h I just overhauled the motor about 1 year ago . I have a oil leak at rear of the oil pan where the plate insert is at the rear main .There are 2 small rubber plugs there that were originaly cork .where can I find those plugs . I know there is also a gasket under this plate that could also leak. THANKS for any help.

Since the plugs, from the factory were cork..... Wittle a couple from some oak scrap..... .install with sealer and saw off excess with hacksaw..... .Don

Try to find a part number on the Case IH site. If there is no singular part number for it then you might have to just make something. That grey permatex permanent sealant would be the next best thing I would think.

Patrick: I think you are right about that gray permatex. I'm not a big fan of silicon type sealers, but that is some good stuff. (Obviously, it contains more than just regular silicon sealer.) mike durhan

I think so too. I was suprised to find out that most current vehicles use it exclusively instead of engine gaskets in some areas. Water pump, oil pan, timing cover, valve covers, etc. Just about everything except the head gasket(s).

Now do I prefer it to a gasket..... .nope.....but on some things like this where the originals are pretty expensive I'd take it. I think I'm gonna do the M's transmission topcover and some other parts with the grey too.
