Greetings,

Just wanted to say thanks to Jimmy King, Hugh MacKay and Allan in NE for your advice about my 560D starting problem. The consensus was to try pull starting it.

Sure enough, we didn't pull it 6 ft. in 4th before she fired right up. Might be an oxidized battery cable. I'll replace that first. If still no go, I guess I'll pull the starter and see if it needs fixing.

Thanks again for lending your expertise. Saves us novices some pain.

Hal: It's nice to know some of the suggestions we make actually work for folks like you.

In diesel evolution the 460, 560 and 660 were amoung the first direct start diesels here in North America, basically good tractors, but starting could be difficult by times. A good tow cable was one of the tools of necessicity.
