This morning I loaded the H on the trailer to go to a show in Tipton , IN . I noticed the front end was hopping a bit and looked down to see the tread flop off one of the front tires. Oh well, just another load of greenbacks going from my pocket to someone elses, nothing new there. So I called a tire store up near the show and they had 2 new ones in stock and at a good price too! I then headed out and filled up the tank on the truck. I drove about 30-40 miles and I notcied the truck was getting very sluggish.Dag nabbit! Black smoke pouring out the tail pipe and the gas gauge had gone to HALF a tank from full! Thing had NO power and would barely make it up the slightest of humps in the road. I was glad to make it back home with it. Anyone want to buy a 94 V-8 Dakota? So much for the show.

Paul Harvey has said it, "...ain't no use worryin' about it, ain't nothin' gonna turn out all right."
I'd say that it rotten luck, and just think of the folks who won't get to see your H. Tipton, isn't that where easybob's place is?

I used to go to the Tipton show quite a bit, but since I moved from centralIN to western, IN it has been hard to get that far.I did want to get back up there to see people I haven't seen in a while. I think I will have another truck before I go to any more shows and one that can haul more than a rick of wood without dragging the bumper. I had a 71 Olds Vista Cruiser wagon that would pull the big trailer better and haul more loaded and it got 20MPG towing. That Dodge won't get better than 15MPG with the trailer on it letalone have anything on it.I think the folks at Elnora, IN will get to see the H if I have to drive it there, (which I might). One thing I remember about the Tipton area when I was a kid, they had a lot of Co-op LPG tractors up there, you would see them everywhere.

I've seen that engine do that when the pressure control assembly (terminology?) in the top of the fuel injection unit under the air cleaner went bad. Wasn't a bad job to replace. Let us know what you find.

I looked at it this morning and found the EGR valve was blowing hot gasses into the vacuum hose and melted the heck out of the plastic EGR control, at least that is what it might be called. it has a bunch of vac lines going to it and has a plug in for the computer and is about 6" from the EGR. NAPA wants $113 for that EGR valve, what has happened to reality! has this world gone completly nuts? or are they made out of platinum. I think I will make a necklass out if it for the girlfriend.
