Its been out there in their backyard forever. I might make an offer if it's worth it. third party image

Also saw this C out working or was previousley working today nearabouts my area. At least I think it's a C? There are allot of C's around here but I don't care for them too much.

Based on the width of the tires I'm going with an M on the little one, and 1066 on the Bigun. I think the 'two tone deer' is actually a white X-box archery target in front of the doe. No one would put a bullseye on the rump of a target.

Sharp eye george! That is one of several full size deer targets he has in his backyard. They do allot of hunting around here in the thickets and woods between feilds. I suspect I will be joining them this year too!

After I posted it dawned on me it may be a target. I have seen one albino buck several years ago and he was a strange looking thing. To far off for a shot. A guy killed one on my MIL's place about 20 years ago. I have never seen another, but have seen 3 white wild turkey's around here.

That big tractor is an International receiver that really brings in utility poles well :^). Me thinks you have a camouflage problem as I can see a BIG truck below the two beacon lights and my guess is, that will tote you home a tractor or two. I'd suggest giving a shout out to Allen in NE as he seems to dabble in them thar kinda IH tractors.

Yep and those are only a smidgen of the camo (or O.D.) problem/addiction that I have. LOL!

I'll give Allen a shout, does anyone know where the serial number is on these things?

Well, the big one is definetly a 66 series, but I can't tell for sure exactly which model. The TURBO decals narrow it down to a 1066, 1466, or 1566. Of course, the decals were often added to 766's and 966's if a turbo kit was installed. Check the serial/model number tag on the left side of the clutch housing. Almost looks like it's got the wheatland style round fenders, those are quite rare.

It does have round fenders on it. I will get a serial number tomorrow.

Patrick, don't be to quick to condemn a C they are great tractors. You would park that 100 if you ever got a hold of one and used it any.

Oh I'm not condemning the C. I think it's a great mid sized tractor. I just don't think I could use one given the place I have and the stuff I have gathered already.

No offense bud! :)

I wasn't offended. I just love those C's and SC's. If you try one you will to. Easier to operate than any of the other Farmalls. Make for a comfortable ride as well.

Are 1066's difficult to work on or find parts for? If I offered $500 would that be about OK?

Patrick, your eyes are bigger than your capacity. That 1066 weighs FIVE or SIX TONS!!! It's a biiiii iiiig tractor, very heavy, and very complex compared to a Farmall letter series.

If it's sitting there, something expensive is wrong with it, something that would cost more to fix than the tractor is worth. Engine, TA, something in the transmission... If it was worth anything it almost certainly wouldn't be sitting there.

Ain't no $500 going to buy that tractor, either.

I dunno, I don't think so really. Stuff like this I like to work on even if it isn't immediate. Diesels don't scare me either. in fact most of my "fleet" if you'd call it that are diesel and I've done ground up restorations on all but the deuce. Transmissions, transfer cases, axles, I do everything when it comes to mechanics and up till now it's been mostly on vehicles. Getting into tractors is becoming sorta fun and I find they are far simpler that working on other vehicles plus I can actually use these for something other than just driving around or hauling stuff.

I kinda see this tractor stuff as a mechanized swiss army knife and I enjoy the usefulness of them plus it isn't like restoring a vehicle and I have to worry about every nitpicking detail with the exterior and interior, worrying about getting every little dent out of the sheetmetal, worrying about having to get the paint JUST perfect or the colors JUST right. I like the freedom of being able to make it up as I go! :)

I forgot to mention, you need a heavy-duty TRUCK, like a Mack or Peterbilt, to move that tractor. You're not going to tow it home on a car carrier with your V6 F150 like you would with a C or H. Unless you know someone, a big rig like that is going to cost you big $$$.

Well one of my other trucks could pull it perhaps.
For sure they are heavy enough..... .

But if I could manage it with my F-150 I would! LOL!

It sure is easier on fuel than either of the other two.

I'll be shopping for a F-350 dually next year though. I might even go with a 1996 or 97 instead of a newer one too. I need something more practical to haul with besides my big trucks.

Shop for a 94-98 1/2 Dodge CTD, Manual tranny. The 12 valve Cummins was the best small truck diesel made. Here in SD they bring more than a 2003 same milage. They are referred to as '2nd Generation'.

It is worth probably more than 500 in scrap metal. I would never do that to that tractor though. As the tractorvet says you could completely redo that tractor for at least $20,000. If you got it running even if it was pretty rough you could get a couple thousand out of it. A nice 1066 can go around 10,000.

I asked a neighbor and was told that they thought the owners couldn't find anyone who would remove it so they just left it there.

Who knows.....I might be able to get it for nothing?

Well tomorrow I'll have to go check it out! :) It'd be totally cool if it is an M!

Anyone know what the top one is and if it'd be worth buying?

Cool, I thought it looked funny!
I'm pretty sure it isn't an M. I can't find anyone around here that has one but allot seem to have H's and C's when you do find a Farmall.

Those mid sizes seem to be a lot more popular than the big'uns.
