I took several pics today but only this one came out well. :-/

It is upside down in this pic. I have a spot for an extra cylinder but I don't know if I'll need it or not. Figured I'd leave myself an out on that. Stuff sure does get rusty if you leave it out around here! :) I still need to find some lift arms.

Not bad, where did you get it from and how much did it cost you? I know where there is one (it's been sitting out also for quite awhile) complete with the cylinders that I am thinking about trying to buy if the heirs of the estate are wanting to sell it.

Jim

Patrick, that looks a whole lot like the one I built and it worked fust fine with only one cylinder and I hauled lots of hay with it and used a 3 bottom Ford plow on it as well. I think your spring on the other should be on the front to absorb shock before it gets to the lift unit. Hugh will have a better idea on that than me.

Thank you much George! I needed that extra assurance because I didn't know if it would work or not. What size cylinder would you reccomend?

I will try and email Hugh about the lift tonight when work slows down a bit. I've been buried under a pile of paperwork for nearly 1.5 weeks. :(
We sure do kill allot of trees around here if you know what I mean.

That think looks almost identical to mine. You sure you ain't been messing around up here?(ha ha ha) I had a 3 X 8 on mine. I don't think you will have any problems at all with that patent.

LOL! Well I did get the beginnings of it with the tractor and just finished the frame, links, and pivots up as crafty as I could. Who knows...it might somehow be a copy of yours?!?!?!

well I hope it lifts OK. We'll see I guess :-/

Also, does anyone know if this needs a spring in front or behind it? Its frozen to the bar but if it needs to be loose I will tear it apart and add one.
Only reason I ask is because I saw one in pic with awhat looked like a spring on it.

Patrick, I searched the CaseIH site and it shows no spring on that set up, but the one for the fast hitch rockshaft has the spring to the rear of the lift linkage.

Good question.

When I got my fathers SA it didnt have a spring but it looked like it did at one time. Since then I have looked as a lot of Super A's and not one of them has had a spring on it.

On mine...in front of that slideing pipe about an inch is a large washer welded to the lift arm that is a stop for the spring. The "stop" was allready there so I assumed it either came that way or was added later after the arm bent. I have seen a few others that have a clamp there in place of where my washer/stop was welded. Now, if that clamp was a stop for the spring there must have been a washer or something else on there because the clamp wasnt wide enough to be used as a stop for the spring. If you will send me an email Ill send you a pic of my SA and you can see the spring on mine. Its easier than trying to explain it.

On the end of your rod there should be two nuts there instead of just one.
