Help. My buddy just had his 806 burn out the switch and wireing harness. I will be going out there tomorrow (Wed.) to rewire it. any body got a diagram that would help me. E-mail is open.

I just checked www.caseih.com and searched 806. Wiring diagrams for Farmall, International, gas or diesel. Great printable diagrams and parts list. An hour spent here will save you many there. David.

Couldn't find it at first but knew you knew what you were talking about. Got it. Printed out diagram and 3 pages of parts ID..for both the alternator and the generator version. Since I don't know which he has.

Assuming it was pretty uch factory when it toasted, do the following (even if someone posts a diagram)
Take pictures of every component. Use white cloth tape and label each wire end, and the terminal it came off of. Lay out the existing harnesses on a clean place on the floor and duplicate the harness exactly (colors included). Use crimp on connectors and shrink tubing to assure trouble free life. Use the split plastic harness, and tape it every 4 inches to keep wires in it. Do not add length to the wires, but never shorter than in the original. Tape each place a wire comes out to prevent self disassembly. If you splice into good original wires use a crimp tube and shrink tube there as well. Be patient. JimN

Yep i got them but have now way of giving them to ya . As my old scanner went belly up and have no idea on how to get them off the C/D my youngest daughter put them on .

I replaced the switch, fuse holder, and flasher this fall on my 706D. I bought everything at Case/IH. They are pretty good about making you a copy out of their parts book. My local dealer has done this on several occasions. They had to order one part, best I can describe it is a buss bar. A solid bar, with three connector bolts, separated by insulating material. Mine even had a cigarette lighter, which had never been used, and I got it working again too.

Only problem I had was I got something on wrong and my flashers stay on in the bright light setting. Other than that, first time the lights have worked for about 10 years. It takes me a while to get to some projects!

for the 06 an 56 series, it is my understanding that flashers and red tail lights are on for both D and B positions, and go off when the switch is put in the R position. think "r for Rear-worklight (and fRont floods)"

i personally believe that other than a road headlight, and a red tail light, the tractor's stock wiring shouldn't have any more running off that circuit. your warning lights and work lights should all be on seperate circuits, possibly with a relay if the amp load is great (relays can provide a means for the stock switch and positions to handle greater lighting loads).

Also, *redundant* grounding is your best friend, as exposure to elements and sheetmetal parts allows a lot of electricity to be wasted or worse, cause a fire.
