Hi, I am new to his forum but you guys seem to know your stuff, so I thought I would ask for some help. I have a 300U and it has power steering and a 2 point lift. The hydraulics work just as they should but I do not get any pressure to the power steering line. If I just move the lever for the lift a little bit the power steering works great. So the only time I have pressure is when I am using the lift.
What"s up with that? Any ideas?
I have had the valve body off several times and don"t see a bad part. My understanding is that the power steering is supposed to get the pressure first and then any extra pressure can be used by the hydrulics. My hydraulics have plenty of pressure but the steering only gets some when I am using the hydraulics
Please help

Thank you for responding.
Is that the long valve with the spring under it? If so, it is in there and it does not look to bad. Of course I don't know what is bad enough to make it not function. It seems like it has a small hole or passage that would allow fluid past it even if it were stuck. Is there a way of by passing the valve body to get fluid directly? Is there an outlet on the valve that has pressure all of the time?

I would say that your flow divider valve is either plugged or worn, or possible, or very unlikely missing. The flow divider is what does what you mentioned. It sends so much of the oil flow to the power steering, hyd brakes, etc on the tractors that have them, and the rest will go to the 2 or 3 pt hitch among other things.
