Look under No1 sparkplug near the radiator for a flat spot with numbers stenciled into the metal.
It should have 6 digits as the first Super C started with 100001. Hal

Hal, did Super C numbers match? I went and looked at one of mine and it did not. I haven't tried looking at the other as it is in tact and has paint over the engine number and can't see it. My numbers on my C do match, just not sure if the SC does or not.

Most of the Farmall letter tractors have this stamped onto the engine block unless the engine has been changed or covered with numerous coats of paint. I don't know why someone would remove the serial number plate from the seat bracket.

I know they all have a number stamped there, but didn't know if SC had matching numbers. The M's don't, but H's do. Looks like all of them would have matched to start with.

I have just joined and must have missed the "free cap" post. I just aquirred a Super C and an A with a belly mower. These are added to my M, John Deere H, 35 gas Cat, and 52 International L160. Could you let me know about this offer or where it is in the post. Thanks

As the others have said, it "should" be pop riveted to the right hand side of the seat support. If it is missing there is an engine serial number stamped on a flat spot next to #1 (front) spark plug. It may not match exactly but it will be in the ball park.

Thanks. I looked for it tonight but did not see it. Also, what is the stock horsepower of the super C and was it 6 or 12 volt?

Stock HP is around 23. It would have been 6 volt positive ground.

Quote:''The tractor serial number is stamped on a name plate attached to the tool box and seat support on the right side of the tractor.''

See what you miss by not having an Owner's Manual?

My grandpa removed the one on my Super C, by the way, and we never found it, which kept me from getting one of those ''free'' gas caps.

They will send you a cap, just tell them you lost the tag. The program has been continued indefinatly due to large supply of caps and low volume of request for them.

Should be on a metal tag that is riveted to the tool box. On the right side under the seat. It may be missing or painted over.

That's right - it's a tool box on a SC that is under the seat. (Been around my SH too much!) mike
