Have an I 340 with front loader and fast hitch. When I hook an implement on the fast hitch won't stay where I want it to. Keeps raising up???
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Doug

Better minds and experience than I can offer will chime in, but I had experience of skin blistering hot hydraulic pump that was most likely the result of plugged screen in one of the valves - 'blocks'. I didn't have an implement on, but when I gave a hydra-touch lever a tap, the system was thus operating and took the pressure off - no implement - and fluid circulated. With your implement put in motion by you, and then with it lifting by itself, do you hear a difference in the sound of the hydraulic system? CAREFULLY, put your hand BY the pump, do you feel excessive heat, so much that you don't want to touch it? Also, what model loader do you have? Me - Farmall 340 with yet to mount IH 2001.

Thanks Al. What I have on the hitch right now is a 32" cube block of concrete for counterweight using the loader. I just used it and now the goofy thing doesn"t seem to be raising on it"s own but I think it will again. It"s done that before. Of course, the block is VERY heavy and hear nothing strange when I lift it but growls pretty bad when I lower it. Pump is cool (well, warm to the touch but not hot at all). I have no idea as to what loader it is as I can find no markings. Thanks, Doug
