What size diesel motors were available in the 715 combine? Also how do you identify the engines?

hi, yes this is the same engine as the 4 or 560 had, had to start them with the glowplugs even when it was 90 degrees.this type engine lasted better in the 560 at 70 hp than in the 715 at 95 hp. most throwed number 5 rod after a little age. later 715s had 310 german engine.i think the 310 had the diesel pump next to graintank.

How many hours can you expect to get out of a german 310 vs a later IH 414 series diesel? Are these 310s fairly decent?

If this is the IH 715 I only have the 301 diesel engine listed. Hal

I never had any of the 301 diesel engines. Some of the men that post on here will probably know. We had a Case combine with a Wiscosin engine and I always liked the sound. Hal

our 715 had a 301D. it is the same block as the 282D that 560's had. only difference is the 301 had no sleeves. we never had any motor problems with our 715. after our 560D cracked a block we put in 301D engine from a 715. it was a pretty forward swap. this engine has not given us any trouble either. still have the 560 but the 715 was happily traded on a 1620.
