Early H piston question

My 1940 manual shows the 5000 & 8000 high altitude pistons avl for an H.

Ran into a 5000 High alltitude H the other day, a latter model around 1947 X1B I believe, that looked original and its pistons were cast iron. Why do I think it was original, cause someone had evidently done a ring job and used a center punch to mark the tops of the pistons. Yep three punch marks for nuber three piston.

Does anyone know if the very early 8000 ft jobs were cast too?

I must have missed that in Guy's book. Was looking at it again last night. Appears I need to re-read more carefully. Thx

The 8000' pistons were also cast.
