There was a HTA woth a wide front andvertised on the internet for $140,000. I contacted the seller and asked where they got such rare tractor. Their response was that they bought it from a man in Missouri who found it in a junk yard. Someone is involved in a fraud. If they actually bought it as a HTA, they are the victim. Shouldn't the seller of a HTA have to declare that it is a combination of 2 tractors?

It does not make any sense to buy a Super H-TA for $140,000 if it is just half Super H and half 300. It is two tractors turned into one. IH never made a Super H-TA.

Hoss,I thought about that, but was afraid I might have to cut out the hood. I would hate to ruin such a rare tractor.

It won't sell -- people who buy rare tractors, either original or combinations of two or more, usually know what they are getting, and balance their wallet with reality. Yes the seller is a crook, but he won't get $140000. The likelyhood of a legitimate buyer buying a fake tractor for that amount of money is non-existant, unless the buyer is a crook also. I wouldn't be concerned with such things.

This serves to remind people with brains not to ignore the process of research (we were taught in highschool). Those challenged with insulated neurons are going to swap money with each other for a long time to come. That sounds like a retail price to me. JimN

F-Dean: This is what business is all about these days, or at least here is how a local buyer-seller, of just about anything that moves puts it. He claims it's all about releiving over paid folks of their money. He declares they must be over paid, or they would have better judgement.

You know the old saying, "A fool and his money are soon parted". There is nothing you can do about it, fools will lay out big cash for some of the most ridiculous items. It's not our job to hold their hands.

The individuals I wish we could clamp down on are the fools our governments hire to spend our tax dollars.
