I have tried without success to adjust the dual stage clutch on my 434 the second stage being always engaged. The first stage work very well.
There is three adjusting bolts to adjust three arms and there is too three others adjusting bolts (nearer the housing than the first).

Witchs one of the set of three bolts I have to adjust to allow the second stage disengaged when the pedal is fully depressed?

Is there specifications for adjusting dual stage?

Thanks

Jacques from Val d'Or Quebec

Bonne Chance

Bernard: Your just the guy Jacques has been looking for. He and I tried once before, however my French is no better than his English, plus I know very little about these British tractors. So, he has both, someone who speaks French plus someone who knows these tractors. Good luck guys, and Jacques I'm sure you've found the guy you need.

Just one other item, does Rimouski get as cold as Rivere du Loop in mid hiver?

Bernard: I've been to Rimouski once many years ago. I missed the turn off for 185 heading for NB. In the middle of the night I found myself at Rimouski, then realized what I did wrong.

I've always intended someday to go right down the river, around the Gaspe to Matapedia, then down the NB north shore. I worked with some guys from Matapedia years ago in a lumber camp. My French was very limited, several of them spoke some English. They found out I knew how to play Auction 45. They determined I was going to teach most of them to play Auction. It started off always having one guy in the game who could speak English. Within weeks I sat in on games with guys that spoke no English. I learned more French that winter than I ever did in High School.

Jacques: Bonjour, it's been awhile. We had some discussion about this tractor before, and as I recall the clutches weren't working properly when you bought the tractor.

Not a great number of two stage clutch experts on here, but the few that are, are good. I haven't seen any of them on here just recently. Must be on summer holidays. I will try and get their attention.

Are you sure that the pto clutch is not frozen and simply not releasing? You should be able to feel the weight of the two clutches as the pedal is slowly depressed. If the pedal travel and weight feels ok and it still won't release you may be able to shock it free, but it may be a tractor splitting task ahead of you. (I have seen them shocked free by locking the pto with a large spanner and engaging the starter with the clutch held down. Risky but has worked for some)
God Bless,
Rex
