I came across an International
Harvesters-Farmall B-Serial #
F.A.B. 146780-----1540 RPM Max Idle
Speed----- 4cyl. GASOLINE----- ----

I am just wondering what the value
could range in--IF in good condition
or IF needs some work done on it.
It has been sitting in a barn since
1957, but was bought new, and after
the farmer passed away, the wife just put it in the barn.--All opinions appreciated. Pictures of any that someone else has is also appreciated.
I also have a Ford 9N series that is in EXCELLENT condition, and would like some opinions about the value of it--POSSIBLY FOR SALE IN NEAR FUTURE??!! THANKS- Cynthia

The farmall value will depend on what it looks like and how much damage occurred during storage (are the tires good, sheet metal damage etc?)and also were you are located and whose around to buy it. I just bought one for 750 with good sheet metal good motor, new tires and after I got it home, a bad trans. I have seen many restored ones go for 1300 to 1500. In Western MN and eastern SD, they don"t seem to have the value of a C or A. In my option 300 to 400 is a fair price in poor to fair condition, Perfect sheet metal, good tires free engine, maybe 500 to 700. The 9n seems to have more value around here because of the 3 pt hitch, in good shape maybe 2000 but I dont follow ford prices closely unlike farmalls. I think if you head east to MPLS and St Paul, they would be worth more.

the Ford 9N, so an idea of value
could be given to me on that one too.
The serial # is 9N42623.so I believe it is a 1940 model.
EXCELLENT CONDITION, and RUNS GREAT
TOO!! Hey, I'm from' and in TEXAS,-- --and LOVE IT!!!

The effects of sitting in shed that long will depend on climate in cold areas condensation will have probaly played havoc with engine and transmission but in warm climate I will bet that other than tires it will be OK. I have M that sat in open front pole shed for over 30 years and there was absolutely no condensation damage. Engine started right up uses no oil holds 70 psi oil pressue and has no oil leaks except for minor leak behind govener. Looked inside transmission and there was no rust changed lubricant about 4 years ago, checked level this week and it still uo to full plug.

Cynthia, if you look on the left side of this site, under the 'Research & Info' area, you can find data by clicking on the 'Tractor Values' and 'List Prices' links. A lot of folks will be replying also. Another source of information, scroll to the top of this page and in the grey banner, click on the Ford 9N,2N,8N link and there is another discussion board devoted strickly for these Ford tractors as so many were produced. I was the second owner of a '47 2N, and while it was a 'cute little tractor' and was designed as a good plow tractor, the N-series didn't have independent power takeoff [ipto], was light on the front end and your model has the distributor/coil located behind the fan/radiator making for difficult engine tuning, although that isn't something you do everyday. A 'feller' who lives up in Canada is very knowledgeable about 'offset Farmalls, i.e. A, Super A and your B, etc. He is full of it, smarts that is, and can expound on the virtues of these types of tractors if you are looking for one. For more pictures, I have gone to the left side of this page again, under 'Galleries', I clicked on 'Tractor Photos' [blue link] once there, I clicked the 'Search' link, on the new page I typed in 'Farmall B' and you are presented w/many photos to click and view, the link is below. Other folks far more knowledgeable than I will chime in to help you out, great folks here and welcome! Just keep us posted.

Well if it has sat that long most likely the engine will be locked up, the tires will be flat and bad, tranny will be full of water from condensation and who knows what else wrong with it. As it sits I would say around $200-300 but with out seeing it and knowing a lot more can't say for sure. Now it it where fixed up I see them sell for over $1500
