Is it possible to operate a two way cylinder with only the lift all pump in a Farmall M. I do not have nor do I want to purchase a hyd. valve right now. How can I plumb in the pump that will allow the cylinder to at least lift. I do not need the two way action right now but just want to know if the pump will lift my 12 ft field cultivator.

Connect a hose from the front port on the left side of the tractor, or the only port on the right side of the tractor to the end of the cylinder that makes your equipment lift. Remove the hose from the other end of the cylinder and install a "breather" that will let air enter that end of the cylinder. These are commonly available from any hydraulics supply place.

The hydraulic pressure will lift the equipment, and gravity will lower it when you push the hydraulic control rod all the way forward. If the tractor cannot lift the load, a larger diameter cylinder will help.

Without another valve it will not work in two directions. For lifting just hook a hose to the port on the right side of lift-all and run it to the back with a pioneer coupler on it.
