I'm thinking of trying to find a used 5ft. belly mower for my Farmall Super C. I have a 3pt. hitch on the tractor, so I could buy a rear finish mower instead. Anyone have experience with either on a Farmall C?

Get the 6ft belley as it is much heavier and will do a much better job as it wont bounce around you have plenty of power. Get one that runs off belt pulley instead of pto. Where do you live as i have one for sale.

i have used both and the belly mower is much easier to use if you have to mow around trees and etc.

A friend of mine has been mowing his yard for 20 years with a SC and a 5 foot belly mower under it. It does a good job. If you use your tractor for other things I would go with the rear mount so you can remove it in a few minutes. They mow well too.

I would have to agree. The belly mower is better for trees and general mowing but a pain to take off. I have a two row cultivator for my C but never use it because its a pain to take off the woods mower. A 3 point hitch mower may be two heavy for your 3 pt hitch depending what you have (hitch or mower). However, I have seen people use a 3 pt hitch mower using 2 lower points hooked to the drawbar (easy on a H or B) or axle.

3 point is one thing I don't have to worry about. I have have all fast hitch stuff for my SC. I also have another C and implements to fit as well. Of course I don't mow a yard with mine either. Been thinking about getting another C or SC. Can't have to many of them. I still run them quite a bit on the farm. Since gas has been so high, I very seldom use either M anymore. Sure wish I had my 350 D back together.

Either one. However the rear mount runs over the grass/weeds mashed by the rear tires, so the grass in the wheel tracks will stand back up if it is tall.
