In Guy Fay's book, under the serial number section, he says in parenthesis that of the 1953 super h's, "some were probably regular H's".

Could this account for my having an H engine on my super h #540? The serial number tag reads SH 540J and it's got disc brakes.

Would they have taken an I-4 engine and put it in an early Super?

Norm, I have a tractor listed thats just 53 numbers later than yours, it has a C-164 with a engine serial number 12 digits away from the chassis number. I'm honestly not sure about your number. Is your block a 152 or a 164? I left email open if you want to contact me. Hope this hasn't added to confusion.Would like to contact H. Wienberg in Mo. to see what his chassis vs. motor serials are. He has a tractor about 20 digits before yours. Pat in Wis
