Does anyone know on a scale of 1 to 10 [ten being hard one easy]if disc brakes on my 300 are hard to rebuild? Can someone tell me how or where to find the information? Its not specific enough in my 300 shop manual and we have never rebuilt disc brakes. Thankyou in advance for all your expertise!!!!! !!!

Pretty simple as Farmer Bob has stated.....even I have done that

I would mention that if you need new discs, get them from your Case IH dealer, even if they do cost more, had trouble with some aftermarket ones a few years ago that didnt stand up and we had to do it again and got the real ones.

It's a pretty straight forward job once you get the outer housing removed so you can see the parts involved. If you find a greasy mess inside which normally indicates a leaking inner seal (And possibly a bad bearing), the job gets more complicated. Investigate your brakes and then come back with your findings. Someone will surely walk you through the finer points. If you find no grease/oil inside the housing, it is just a matter of removing the brake discs and the actuator, taking apart the actuator so you can clean up the ramps where the steel balls reside, inspect the balls for smoothness, sand down the ramps, replacing the balls if necessary, replace the discs and inspect the mating surfaces of the housings where the discs make contact. You may get by with just some minor sanding. Reassemble everything and adjust per the manual. You'll never know unless you try it yourself.
