Hi Bob, it have a bushing where the dog engage. The bushing aling the two PTO shafts, when the bushing is worn the dog don't stay engaged. To change the bushing, drain all the transmission oil, remove the PTO lever, the rear PTO shaft, by the cover to access the clutch, remove the large snap-ring, the cap then the snap-ring on the PTO shaft, remove the next cover, push the PTO shaft then remove the snap-ring next to the gear. Push the shaft all the way to the rear hole. Change the bushing and check for wear on the shaft, machined if so . Bernard le mécano Québec Canada

If it is not a bent shifter arm causing it not to go all the way in geat, you will have to remove the lift box under the seat to replace the engagement dogs down in the front of the rearend.

Hi Again, I looked under the seat ands found a small cover 9 1/2 x 6 and took it off and I can't see much because its filled with oil, But I also noticed there is a larger cover over the whole rear end, Is that the cover you are talking about? thanks again, Bob

Thanks for that Info, The shifter does rest up against the brake cover and the rolled pin that connect it to the shaft looks OK But I will check it out closer, And I am not sure what to look for as far as the Engagement Dogs, What do they look like. Thanks for your Help. Bob
